„Putz und Panels“ meets „Die Frau als Mensch“

Before it became today’s Literaturhaus, the building at Schwanenwik 38 had already been home to an X-ray institute and much more. Students from HAW Hamburg explored its history together with comic artist Mia Oberländer and turned their findings into comics for “Putz und Panels”.

Afterwards, Ulli Lust, one of the leading comic artists in the German-speaking world, reads from “Die Frau als Mensch”. The series looks at women’s roles in art and cultural history. In 2025, the first volume became the first comic ever to win the German Non-Fiction Prize. The second volume, “Schamaninnen”, has just been published.
