Opening the drawer

This exhibition offers a glimpse into artistic projects that have long been tucked away in drawers. During the summer semester of 2026, students at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences took a fresh look at their neglected sketches, fragments, and half-finished narratives in a course taught by Mia Oberländer—and developed them further. Spanning personal stories and graphic experiments, the exhibition showcases a wide range of gra...phic narratives: the unfinished meets a joy of experimentation, doubt gives way to new decisions, and abandoned ideas are transformed into completed comics that beg to be read.
