Hunky Dory

In Jaden Pirfano Kristoffersson’s comic debut “Hunky Dory”, the devout farm boy Martin Moon meets a mysterious stranger who introduces himself as his uncle George DeVille, a sailor. Tempted by the promise of a lost family treasure, Martin gives up his belief in mercy and reason—and sets off a chain of events that could plunge the world into ruin. The exhibition celebrates the publication of the first volume and focuses on the question: how is a comic made? Sketches, drafts, and original drawings offer insight into the often frustrating creative process. On view are the many inspirations, attempts, and mistakes it takes to find a work while creating it.
