In “Das Unvorstellbare zeichnen”, ten artists approach three former concentration camps through stories: KZ Neuengamme in Germany, Kazerne Dossin in Belgium, and Lager Westerbork in the Netherlands. Kazerne Dossin and Lager Westerbork were transit camps where Jewish citizens from the Netherlands and Belgium were held before deportation. The project was initiated by Gedenkstätte Kamp Westerbork and developed in collaboration with Gedenkstätte Kamp Westerbork, Kazerne Dossin, KZ-Gedenkstätte Neuengamme, the NIOD Institute for War, Holocaust and Genocide Studies, and the publisher Scratch Books. The graphic novel will be released alongside the exhibition in German, English, French, and Dutch.
The ten artists come from the Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium. They all contributed to the graphic novel project “Das Unvorstellbare zeichnen”.
