Forum Fanart and Exhibition Strapazin on the „Fanart“ Issue

Fanart is the creative engagement of fans with existing characters, stories, and worlds—often as an independent and diverse form of art. At the Freiraum of MK&G Hamburg, fanart takes center stage for a day: a practice that breaks narrative boundaries, playfully transforms source material, and creates new spaces for community and participation. Through lectures, readings, and panel discussions, the subversive and transformative potential of fanart will be explored at the intersection of art, zine culture, and the comic scene. The accompanying exhibition presents selected works from the 158th issue of the Swiss comic magazine Strapazin, which is entirely devoted to the theme of „Fanart“.
