Der Raum im Comic – Comics im Raum

Semesterprojekt HAW Hamburg

Comic stories unfold in waiting rooms, on the beach, in the S-Bahn, in parallel worlds, in outer space, or in front of a blank wall. The space within a graphic narrative is only as vast as the illustrators allow it to be. Together with Mia Oberländer, HAW Hamburg students explored the influence of setting on storytelling during the summer semester of 2025. Building on this, they developed exhibition concepts. Together they seek to discover: How can narrative space be made accessible beyond the pages of the book?
