The GINCO Awards ceremony creates a shared stage on which works spanning digital and analog media, comics and manga alike, are honored. GINCO stands for “German Inclusive / Independent Comic.” The award serves to recognize and honor comic creators who publish their works through self-publishing, small publishers, platforms for creator-owned content, or similar channels. The award is presented in various categories and has a total prize fund of €1,500.

    The concept and objectives of the GINCO Award are developed and implemented by the Feminist Comic Network, Comic Solidarity, artists from the manga scene, and various interdisciplinary actors. Dedicated volunteers make the organization possible. The prize money is financed by donations and supporting memberships.
